Green Screen-Day 1 (11/9/21)
We will watch the video below to get an idea of how to use the green screen menu in iMovie on the iPads. After the video, you will have some time to plan out what you want to do and begin finding background images, creating screens/slides, etc. You will have time to film today and next meeting before publishing your videos.
If you would like to make an avatar like the one in the video, feel free to use the website avatarmaker.net. You can download these images and animate them in Keynote.

Makerspace Club March 11th-3D Printing!
We will be using our iPads to do some 3D design work. We will print over the next few weeks.
Step 1: In your iPad, go to the Manager app (looks like a sideways wifi signal). At the top, choose "self-service" and then "my apps." From there, you will scroll to the bottom to find the XYZmaker 3Dkit and click "reinstall/update."
Step 2: Decide what you want to try to create (remember that it needs to have a FLAT BASE) and clear it with Ms. Tasich.
See below for tutorials:

Makerspace 12.19.19 Using Tinkercad and the 3D Printer
Today we are going to begin learning how to use Tinkercad as well as going over the type of 3D printer we have available in the library. Some of you will make individual Tinkercad accounts and some of you will be using the generic one for Makerspace Club. Our first project will be to create a car like the one in the video below:
Once you have a design created, you will need to follow these steps:
1. Airdrop to the Mac under the gears by the 3D printer
2. Rename your file to include your name and your project title (Smith_car)
3. Open up the file in the XYZ software
4. Choose how to print (good quality, include rafts and support)
5. Add the file to the memory card and put the memory card in the 3D printer
6. Turn on the 3D printer and select "print from card"
7. Find your design and press start

Makerspace 11.14.19 Intro to 3D design and 3D Pens
We are starting our 3D drawing unit and to begin, we will be using the 3D pens. We have a few different types of 3D pens, and we have different types of filament. To begin, we will watch the tutorial below.
For your 3D creation, follow these steps:
1-Plan out your drawing. This means to draw (or find!) an image you want to use and print it out. To create structures that are truly 3 dimensional, you might have to make more than one image and then solder them together with the 3D filament. Plan accordingly!
2-Select the filaments you will be using.
3-Layer the image underneath wax paper (or ask Ms. Tasich to laminate it).
4-Begin drawing!

Makerspace 10.17.19-Sphero Maze Races!
Today we will be creating mazes for our Spheros. Then, each team (1-3 people) will CODE (yes, code, not drive) their Sphero to run through a maze created by someone else. The team who makes it through in the least amount of tries wins!
Helpful Hints:
1-Use masking tape to make your maze. You will want to include at least 2 dead ends that the other team has to go around.
2-When you are using the Sphero, you will need to have it connect to an iPad. When connecting, make sure to take your Sphero and iPad to a sep. area of the room so you don't connect to someone else's stuff.
3-The coding of the Sphero will take some trial and error. You can do it!

Makerspace 9.19.19-Microbits
Today we are using MICROBITS!
We will start HERE for a quick overview of how to use them and getting started with coding them on the Mac computers.
Our first challenge will be to do THIS PROJECT as an intro to the Microbits.
Beginner Projects:
Game of Chance
Snowflake Fall
Intermediate Project:
Magic 8 (links to tutorial, quiz, challenges, etc)
Once you have completed these challenges, you are free to code your microbits as you choose!
